Welcome to the Troop 23 web site!

Troop 23 meets at the VFW post in Ashland, Massachusetts Wednesday evenings at 7:00.  All boys 11 to 17 years old are welcome to join Troop 23 of the Boy Scouts of America.

This web site is maintained by members of Troop 23.  Members, please add to the web site.  Add anything  that is not offensive.  This is our web site.  Let's use it!

You need to log in to make changes to the site or to access protected pages, such as contact information.  Your user id is your first initial followed by your last name.  We'll tell you the password, but you should change it so that no one else can use your account.

News

Summer Camp details:  They only allow cars into Camp Resolute Sunday morning.  So if you don't want to carry your gear to the camp site, bring it to the VFW parking lot  9:00AM Sunday morning (July 29).  We will drive that gear into the camp site.  Anything else will have to be carried, probably 1/4 to 1/2 mile.  We will be meeting noonish at the VFW parking lot to car pool the scouts to Camp Resolute.  Please read the camp pamphlet for more details.  Talk to Mr. Jones if you need a copy.

Backpacking Trip:  We will be taking a three day/two night backpacking trip in Vermont, August 15-17.  This will be led by Mr. Jones and Mr. Gillespie.  We will be carrying all of our camping gear on our backs for over 10 miles, so this trip isn't for everyone!  Send Mr. Jones an email if you are interested in participating.  We will be having a planning meeting for interested parties in early August after summer camp.  We welcome any willing adults to participate as well!

 Canoeing Trip:  We're thinking about doing a three-day canoeing tip on the Saco River in Maine in Late August.  Please let Mr. Jones know if you are interested in this trip.  The date hasn't been set, and we need adult volunteers for this.

No more troop meetings until September.

 It's not too late to sign up for Camp Resolute July 29-August 3.  Make sure you have your medical forms ready.  Send Mr. Jones and Mrs. Doktor the list of merit badge classes that you want to take.

We're still planning on a backpacking and/or canoeing trip in August.  We will post more information when we have more details.
